Requesting an Author Account
From Programapedia
The first step in creating an account for purposes of updating content on Programapedia is to request an account. Library staff throughout the state may Request an Account to become authors.
The following page illustrates where to log in, once your author account has been created, as well as where to request an account. Once you request an account, an email will be sent to confirm the validity of your email address and a system operator will approve or reject your request. When the account has been approved, another email will be sent to you indicating the status of the account request and a link to log into Programapedia.
From the Log in/create account link page, a link to request an account is readily available too. Every wiki article displays the Log in/create account link in the top right hand corner. Following this link, the log in form is displayed. From this form, you can select the link to request an account.
Also note on this form is a submit button “E-mail password” in case you have forgotten your password. The Username will be your full name, e.g Mary Smith. If you have problems with this, verify how your username was originally entered. For instance, did you use a middle initiall? Did you have a typo in your original username? To see what you originally used to create your account go to User List.
The account request form is shown below. NOTE: The minimum number of words required under Job Responsibilities and Roles is 50. If you use less than 50 words you will get an error message and will have to re-do this section.
When completing the request form, remember that the information you enter in the Job Responsibilities and Roles area will be entered into your Programapedia userpage. This userpage can be further edited to include a photograph and other credentials you would like to share with the community.
The contact information is used by the system operators when they approve your account. Complete information is helpful in monitoring the authority control of our wiki authors. The phone number is required in case there is a question regarding your request. All users must certify that the Real name they entered is indeed their correct name and that they have read and agree to the Terms of Service before submitting the request for an account.
If errors are encountered processing the account request, an explanation will be provided and displayed with the form. You can then correct those errors and resubmit the request.
As soon as the account is requested, an email is sent to verify that the email entered is a valid and correct email address. When you receive this email, follow the embedded link to confirm your email address.
The system operators from PALS and SHLS receive notification of a new request and can then review the information you submitted and either approve or reject your account request. As soon as the account request is approved, another email will be sent to your email address.
