Adding Additional Sub-Categories to Existing Wiki Pages

Check boxes in webforms generate wiki category entries. However, authors may want to describe their presenter or program with sub-categories that are not listed as options on the webform.

Therefore, after the webform is submitted and wiki page is created, additional sub-categories (those not included as a check box option) can be added to the page by clicking on the Edit tab and manually entering the wiki code that will create the desired subcategories.

  1. Click on the Edit tab and go to the Audience, Age Level, Topic, Language, Culture section of the page.
  2. Copy and paste the wiki code for an existing sub-category.
  3. Update the code to create desired additional sub-category.
  4. Describe and save change to page.

Adding New Sub-Category Pages to Programapedia (Sysops Only)

One of the responsibilities of a System Operator (Sysop) is adding new sub-category pages to Programapedia. First, a sysop must check to see if there are any outstanding sub-categories that need a page created. This can be checked by going to the Wanted Category special page.

After a new sub-category has been identified:

  1. Go to the main category page (e.g. Topic)
  2. Follow a sub-category link (e.g. Art)
  3. Go into Edit tab and copy code
  4. Go back to the Wanted Category special page
  5. Clink on red link
  6. Edit page content by pasting code and updating
  7. Return to the main category page
  8. Edit the main category page to include a quick link to the sub-category
